Carter Jr. is a Full-Time Bus Operator for the Chicago Transit Authority that "delivers quality, affordable transit services that link people, jobs and communities." Mr. Carter has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in public transportation.
Mr. Carter has been in the transportation industry for the past 20 years. He drove semi tractor trailers for 2 years before starting his own trucking business. He owned Carter's Trucking Co. for 8 years and Carter and Son's Trucking, Inc. for 2 years before entering the public transportation industry. For the past eight years, Mr. Carter has been employed by the Chicago Transit Authority. His duties require him to perform pre pullout inspections of his bus, and to maintain the safe and timely transport of the general public. His duties also require him to report any unusual situation that occur to the control center, supervisor, and manager. He attributes his success to self-motivation and determination. A licensed commercial driver, he holds a variety of industry-related certifications.
Pursuing a Master's Degree in Management, Mr. Carter is the recipient of a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Colorado Technical University Online in 2010. He also earned an Associate of Applied Science in Management in 2005 from South Suburban College. Mr. Carter is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Sigma Beta Delta (International Honor Society in Business, Management, and Administration). His short term (5 year) goal is to become a General Manager at CTA with hopes of becoming the President of the company one day. He also anticipates starting another business of his own in the near future.
