Lessons Should be Learned from High Profile New York Auto Accidents, Lawyer Says
An SUV falls from an elevated section of the FDR and lands on top of a taxi, and a pedestrian is killed by a car carrying a celebrity.
NEW YORK, NY, July 23, 2011 /Transportation and Trucking PR News/ -- Recently, several high profile auto accidents in New York City made the news.
"While auto accidents are never a good thing, when they make the news, more people can learn from them," said David Perecman, a New York auto accident lawyer who has been practicing in New York for over 30 years
In one vehicular accident, an SUV fell from the upper level of the FDR Drive and landed on a taxi below. Eight people were hurt, two of them critically, in the auto accident.
Police say the SUV was traveling near East 23rd Street when it crashed. The vehicle flipped over the guard rail and fell onto the taxi, which was in the service road. The driver of a Land Rover told the police that someone cut him off. The New York Daily News reports that the driver may have been "doing about 112 miles per hour."
As reported by the New York Post, a 15-year-old pedestrian died after being hit by an SUV carrying LA Laker basketball star Lamar Odom. The Queens, New York auto-pedestrian accident left the teen with serious head injuries. He died the day after the auto accident.
Both vehicular accidents are still being investigated by New York auto accident lawyers.
"High profile auto accidents raise the emphasis on road safety. It is up to us to learn from these horrific crashes so that the mistakes made are not repeated in New York," said auto accident lawyer Perecman, founder of The Perecman Firm, one of New York's auto accident law firms. "Personal injuries from auto accidents often lead to significant physical, financial and emotional challenges and they're best to be avoided."
A few years ago Perecman settled an auto accident case for $1,2500,000 for a woman passenger who injured her spine in a car accident in New York.
Anyone who is the victim of an auto accident in New York should contact a New York
auto accident lawyer. An expert New York auto accident lawyer can help individuals get the compensation they deserve.
"New York auto accident lawyers at The Perecman Firm strive to help take some of the pressure off victims and their families, which allows them to concentrate on recovery," Perecman said.
